Megan Stypulkoska is a young and emerging artist working in multiple styles. Her oil still-lifes explore the lives of her collected dolls, their narratives, emotions, and relationships revealed with each piece. Whimsical yet melancholic, these works convey the loneliness, anxiety, and resented obligations so common to humanity. With a sense of humor, Stypulkoska questions the heavy weight we place on our social status, personal image, and the roles society expects us to play.

In the Summer of 2017, Stypulkoska began her illustrated series The Lowly Esculent. This series brings together the artist’s obsession with plant-human relationships and her illustrative ability to celebrate the histories of the most economically, ethnobotanically, and ecologically important plant species.
